After you found out that Jack had killed Oswald, did it ever occur to you that the way in which you had left Dallas might seem odd?

Yes; it did occur to me that it might seem very odd.

Did you communicate that view to anyone?

I think I said something to my sister to the effect that I thought it might be kind of suspicious the way I had left Dallas, so suddenly, without saying anything to anybody.

Did you say that to your cousin, too?

Mr. Crafard.

I don't know for sure if I said anything to Gall about that or not.

I think you told us that you spoke to your cousin, I am talking about Roberts now, about the fact that you had left Dallas on Saturday evening and the manner in which you left.

I don't recall saying anything to him about the fact that I thought it might be suspicious.

Mr. Hubert.

No; I am not suggesting that. But what I want to ask you is whether he thought that the way in which you left might throw some suspicion.

I don't recall him saying anything about it, sir.

Did it occur to you that perhaps one easy way to clarify your position would be to contact the FBI or some police agency and tell them where you were?

Mr. Crafard.

I didn't think about that. I figured that if they were looking for me, if I had heard anything about the fact that they were looking for me I figured I'd go to the nearest police station and tell them who I was and that they was looking for me. But that is the only thing I thought about on that.

Didn't you rather know that they were looking for you?

Mr. Crafard.

I wasn't positive that they were. I thought they might be; yes.

You had a pretty good idea that they might be?

Like I say, I thought they might be looking for me but I wasn't positive.

Wouldn't you want to find out positive evidence they were looking for you?

If there had been any definite evidence they were looking for me, I would have went into the nearest police station and told them who I was.

What do you mean by definite evidence?

The fact I knew for sure they were. I said I just thought that they might be.

Were you contemplating, as a matter of fact, going to some police agency prior to the time the FBI came to you?

No; I don't believe that I was.

How did you expect to get this positive evidence that they were looking for you?

I just figured if it was possible they might put something in the paper or maybe something over the radio or something and if I heard that they was looking for a young fellow that had worked for Ruby by the name of Larry or anything like that, they was looking for this young fellow that had worked for Ruby or anything, that I would have went in and told them who I was.

I understood you said there was no radio or newspaper at your sister's house.

No; but I was at other people's places that had radios.

You expected to get the information that way?

I didn't stay with my sister all the time.
